HomePilot: Home & Auto Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of HomePilot: Home & Auto ("HomePilot"), operated by Mihir Ghawghawe. By downloading or using HomePilot, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

The service

HomePilot helps organize recurring home and vehicle maintenance, maintenance history, subscription reminders, and related records. It may offer Local mode, which stores data on your iPhone, and optional paid Family Sync for eligible shared data.

HomePilot is an organizational and reminder tool. It does not inspect your home, vehicle, equipment, insurance coverage, or subscription provider; provide professional maintenance, legal, financial, insurance, safety, or emergency advice; verify a completion or charge; or cancel a subscription with its provider. You are responsible for maintenance, inspection, insurance, registration, safety, and repair decisions and for obtaining qualified help when appropriate.

Eligibility and acceptable use

You must be legally able to enter into these Terms. You agree to provide accurate information, protect access to your device and account, and use HomePilot lawfully and for its intended personal or household purposes. You must not access another person's account or Family data without authorization; circumvent security, role permissions, subscriptions, or storage limits; upload unlawful, infringing, malicious, or harmful content; or interfere with or reverse engineer the service except where law expressly permits it.

Local mode, backups, and data

Local mode does not require an account. Its data is stored on your iPhone and may be included in an iPhone backup if you enable one. Removing the app can remove local-only data. You are responsible for keeping any backup or export you need. Do not rely on HomePilot as the sole record for irreplaceable documents or time-sensitive safety, legal, insurance, or maintenance decisions.

Family Sync

Family Sync is optional and requires Sign in with Apple and a valid entitlement. A Family owner creates and administers a Family, including roles and invitations. Authorized members may view or change shared information as permitted by their role. Shared data can include maintenance records, notes, costs, vehicle and insurance details, subscriptions, attachments, and activity attribution. By adding content to Family Sync, you direct us to make it available to authorized members of that Family.

Network availability, Apple services, and third-party infrastructure can affect sync, notifications, purchases, exports, and other online features. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free service or immediate synchronization.

Subscriptions and billing

Family Sync is offered as an Apple auto-renewable subscription. The planned product is homepilot.family.monthly, billed monthly at the price shown in the App Store for your territory. Apple controls price, taxes, billing, renewal, trial eligibility, and cancellation and presents applicable terms before purchase.

Your Apple ID account is charged when you confirm purchase. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends, the subscription renews automatically. Manage or cancel through Apple ID subscription settings. Deleting HomePilot data or a HomePilot account does not cancel an Apple subscription. We may change pricing or offerings prospectively, subject to Apple's requirements and applicable law.

Exports and support

You are responsible for protecting exported files and download links. A Family Cloud export is delivered only to the authenticated owner's email through a time-limited private link. Do not share an export or link with someone not authorized to receive its data.

Do not include passwords, authentication information, payment-card details, invite codes, or other secrets in a support request. Support response-time estimates are goals, not guarantees.

Intellectual property and feedback

HomePilot, its design, software, text, graphics, and proprietary content are owned by Mihir Ghawghawe or licensors and protected by law. We grant you a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use HomePilot on Apple-branded devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and Apple's applicable usage rules. Open-source components remain subject to their respective licenses.

If you send feedback or suggestions, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free right to use and incorporate that feedback without compensation or obligation. This does not give us ownership of your private HomePilot content.

Disclaimers

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, HOMEPILOT IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE." WE DISCLAIM ALL WARRANTIES, EXPRESS, IMPLIED, OR STATUTORY, INCLUDING MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, NON-INFRINGEMENT, ACCURACY, AND AVAILABILITY. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT HOMEPILOT WILL BE SECURE, ERROR-FREE, UNINTERRUPTED, OR THAT REMINDERS, SYNC, EXPORTS, OR INFORMATION WILL ALWAYS BE TIMELY, COMPLETE, OR ACCURATE.

Limitation of liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, MIHIR GHAWGHAWE AND HOMEPILOT WILL NOT BE LIABLE FOR INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, EXEMPLARY, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR FOR LOSS OF DATA, PROFITS, GOODWILL, OR USE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY FOR ANY CLAIM ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO HOMEPILOT OR THESE TERMS WILL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO US FOR HOMEPILOT IN THE 12 MONTHS BEFORE THE EVENT GIVING RISE TO THE CLAIM. Nothing excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Termination and account deletion

You may stop using HomePilot at any time. We may suspend or terminate online-feature access when reasonably necessary for security, legal compliance, nonpayment, fraud prevention, or a material breach of these Terms.

For Family Sync accounts, use the in-app Delete Account flow. A Family member's deletion removes that member's account and membership. A Family owner must explicitly confirm deletion of the Family's shared cloud data before the owner's account can be deleted. Account deletion does not cancel an Apple subscription.

Changes, Apple, and general terms

We may modify, suspend, or discontinue all or part of HomePilot and may update these Terms by posting revised Terms at this URL and changing the effective date. Continued use after revised Terms take effect means you accept them.

These Terms are between you and Mihir Ghawghawe, not Apple. Apple is not responsible for HomePilot or its content. Your use is also subject to Apple's applicable terms. To the extent required by those terms, Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce them.

If any provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain effective. These Terms and the Privacy Policy are the entire agreement about HomePilot, except where applicable law requires otherwise.
